Returning to Bloom Collection

Too often, we place excessive pressure on ourselves and our work, and I’m no stranger to that struggle. As we rang in 2025, I was excited and motivated to set new goals for the year but quickly found myself spending far too much time in spreadsheets and not enough time with a paintbrush in hand.

This collection is the result of closing the laptop for a few weeks and returning to the why of my art practice. By removing pressure and plans, I simply looked at a stack of paper and decided I would paint every piece, no matter how long it took. In the end, I created the largest and most cohesive collection I’ve ever made.

Returning to Bloom celebrates the flowers I’ve encountered on my daily walks and travels, elegantly painted with gouache on handmade cotton paper. Each 4x6 inch piece sits within a 5x7 inch frame, floating over thrifted linen fabric, which I individually cut and serged.

I hope this collection inspires you to give yourself a temporary break from expectations and simply get lost in the joy of creating again.
