GOUACHE ARTIST
Meet Daphne Vantine

Daphne has been creating for as long as she can remember. She was always “the art kid,” constantly drawing, painting, and tinkering with anything she could get her hands on - sewing, knitting, pottery, you name it. She was even voted "Most Artistic" in her eighth-grade yearbook. While she never imagined art as a realistic career at the time, she always held onto the hope that one day she could find a way to make it work.
In college, Daphne pursued a degree in entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware, making sure to include art electives whenever possible. After graduation, she began a successful career in software sales. For five years, she thrived in the corporate world, but always kept creative projects alive at home - painting after work, picking up new crafts, and keeping that artistic spark alive.
Eventually, she felt a growing restlessness. After experiencing severe insomnia and anxiety, Daphne felt a calling toward something more colorful, something that felt like her true self. She didn’t yet know what that would look like, but she trusted the feeling. After leaving her job, that creative spark ignited into something undeniable: the urge to become an artist. Two years later, she hasn’t looked back.
Today, Daphne’s art is a reflection of that leap of faith - a bold, joyful embrace of color and creativity. Her work is available as original paintings, fine art prints, and greeting cards, all of which can be purchased through her online shop or at in-person events. She also takes on commissions, creating custom pieces that bring her unique, lively perspective to personal spaces.
Whether it’s a sweeping landscape, a single flower, or a bowl of fruit, Daphne’s work is rooted in one belief: art has the power to slow us down and reconnect us with what matters most - the beauty that’s always been around us.
